Former Ajax player Abdelhak Nouri is no longer in coma after two years and nine months, according to the Dutch site AD.
“He sleeps, eats, frowns and burps but is very dependent. A certain form of communication is possible, for example in the form of raising eyebrows. But that is top sport for him” says his brother.
The 22-year-old initially suffered a cardiac arrhythmia attack on the pitch during a July 2017 friendly match, causing severe brain damage while leaving him full in coma.
