Crystal Palace to sign Liverpool youngster?
Its time for Liverpool to recover some funds after spending nearly £70m combined on Thiago and Diogo Jota
The latest news on Brewster's potential move
According to Sky Sports, Crystal Palace are prepared to pay £19m plus £6m in add-ons for Liverpool striker R. Brewster. Sky Sports also reported that any deal has to include Liverpool's option to have the first refusal and repurchase the player for £37m in the future.
Aston Villa are also keen to bring the youngster to Villa Park. Villa were close to signing Brewster on loan in January but later went for M. Samatta. This summer, Villa are trying harder to sign him permanently. However, the competition for the 20-year-old will make it difficult.
Brewster's career so far
Rhian Brewster has been a much-coveted young player in England. At the age of seven, he was scouted by representatives from Chelsea, Arsenal, West Ham United, and Charlton Athletic. He joined Chelsea and was developing well under academy coach Michael Beale. At the age of 14, he left Chelsea and joined Liverpool.
Last season in January, Swansea City completed his loan signing. Brewster went to make 20 appearances and scored an excellent 10 goals in the Championship. This loan spell caught some eyes around Europe, and his reputation as a goalscorer increased.
Now with Premier League sides chasing him, it would be a good move for him to get first-team football in the top flight. Pressure will be on as now he will need to prove himself on a higher level than last season. However, it's just a matter of time before he reaches his much-anticipated potential. A move away from Liverpool could speed up this process.
