Solskjaer speaks on why United signed Sacho

What did Solskjaer say?

Speaking to the club’s website, [coach 524307] said, “Jadon is a signing that we expect to stay at Man United for many, many years, so it’s also that part of it that we have a young, up-and-coming forward line. There will be injuries and there are always players that you need to give a rest to.

“For example, you can’t win a [league 1326] that lasts for four weeks with 11 or 12 players – never mind when you’ve got the [league 8], the [league 2], the [league 24] and the [league 27]… it’s a long season and this has strengthened our squad and I’m sure everyone will see that.

“I think he made a good decision going to the Bundesliga, it was probably the right step for him, the right level and right club. I think Dortmund have shown so many times what they can do for young talent and in the Bundesliga what that can do. The Premier League is a different animal though. I don’t want to sound disrespectful to the Bundesliga, but I think the Premier League is a step up.

“We’ve seen that in the last few years in the Premier League, and the teams that have got to finals in Europe and won them, it’s shown it’s the place to be and that’s where Jadon wanted to be. He’s been in England of course, at [team 25] and over on the other side of the city as well, so he knows what’s expected from him.”

“He’s got that DNA of exciting fans and entertaining and he’s also a winner. He wants to win and that’s the next step for us. We need to take the next step, we want to take the next step and we feel that he can help us do that. Of course we’re going to give him a chance to develop more and more throughout time.

“It’s not like in your first game you have to show everything; we’ve seen so many times with our players that when you play for Manchester United that gradually, with the help of the coaching staff and the platform of Old Trafford, you’ll improve as a player.”

How will Sancho fit in at United?

After a wait of two long years, [player 538034] is finally a Man United player. The England international is still just 21 years old but has matured into one of the best players in Europe. He left for [team 68] at a young age for first-team game time, which he wasn’t getting at [team 9] under [coach 455361].

His numbers for Dortmund in the [league 82] over the last couple of seasons have been brilliant. His pace and quality of delivery from that right side was one of the biggest weapons for Dortmund. It always felt like it was a matter of time before he signed for a big club. However, it does feel that United got lucky in getting him despite pulling the trigger a year later.

[team 14] have lacked a proper right winger for a long time now. Their last recognized right-winger was [player 208], who later became a right-back. [player 5149], Rashford, [player 1829] and Mata have all played there but never looked comfortable. [player 846] is more suited to a central role, and the other three prefer to play down the left.

With Sancho now joining [player 1878] and [player 129602] in that frontline could make a massive difference for United this season. Till now, Solskjaer was never under too much pressure. However, now after spending an enormous amount on a youngster, the pressure will come.

Regardless of Solskjaer’s future at the club, Manchester United have signed an absolute gem for the next decade.
