Dayot Upamecano
[player 33685] is a French international playing for [team 277] in the Bundesliga. Upamecano has made his name at the top level just at the age of 21. His form was vital in Leipzig’s historic Champions League run last season. He has been a central figure in Nagalsmann’s high-intensity side.
Last season in the German top-flight, Upamecano made 28 appearances keeping 6 clean sheets. The 21-year-old recorded 1.5 interceptions and completed an outstanding 1.9 tackles per game. The Frenchman also registered 3 clearances per 90. Throughout the whole season, he made just a single error leading to a shot. Exceptionally he didn’t make a single error to goal throughout the season in the Bundesliga.
Upamecano’s athleticism is another highly impressive facet, with the youngster winning 60% of his total duels last season. Won nearly 2 aerial duels per game in the 2019/20 league season.
In possession, Upamecano is gifted as well. In the 2019/20 Bundesliga season, he recorded 89% accuracy in his passing. He also registered 83% passing accuracy in the opposition half, showing his composure on the ball. The youngster also completed 1 dribble per game and is an excellent carrier of the ball.

Kalidou Koulibaly
A more short term but world-class solution could be Napoli’s [player 61806]. The 29-year-old has been a massive part of this [team 597] side for some good years now and should have moved to a bigger club a couple of years ago. He was close to joining Manchester City on a couple of occasions. However, due to the frantic relationship between the two clubs, a big move was getting difficult.
Last season in Serie A, Koulibaly made 25 appearances and kept 5 clean sheets for his side. The giant defender recorded some highly impressive stats throughout the season as he recorded 1.2 interceptions per game. The 29-year-old also completed 2 tackles and 2.4 clearances per 90. He made just a single error leading to goal in the whole season and was dribbled past only once per two games.
Koulibaly possesses quality on the ball as well. 91% passing accuracy last season with 87% accuracy in the opposition half as well. The Senegalese also completed 4.6 long balls and 2.8 chipped passes per game.’
Liverpool need a defender capable of defending the halfway line, and Koulibaly’s pace would be a great asset. He might not be the youngest but would be an excellent player for Liverpool for the next 3 or more seasons.
